The most cutting edge water technologies battle it out at China’s IE Expo 2017

The most cutting edge water technologies for the advancement of environmental protection in China at IE Expo China 2017.

Last week Isle was present at the IE Expo China (May 4-6, 2017) with our Isle Innovation Pavilion and we hosted a series of Innovation Competitions throughout the week. These presentations showcased the “best of the best” in the world of water technology and suitable for the Chinese market.

Isle was very proud to host the Innovation programs for technologies from all over the world. For example a unique Dutch concept which combines natural processes, advanced materials and state-of-the-art production techniques to provide a low-cost solution for one of the world’s greatest needs: purified water (www.aquastill.nl). Or the water disinfection technique from Australia that uses the electro catalytic break down of water to instantly destroy waterborne micro-organisms including micro-flora, while simultaneously converting chloride ions into chlorine leaving a measured residual disinfection in the treated water (www.hydro-dis.com.au). Or the destruction of aqueous toxic organic contaminants to the water sector and industries. It achieves this with the Organics Destruction Cell (ODCTM) coming from the UK (www.arviatechnology.com).

These technologies, along with all the other innovations, are all of course winners in their own. According to attendee Sallyanne Spika from CBN global ‘the presentations were easily the most interesting and informative part of the Expo, I think it successfully proved the point that the opportunity for a company to present on a platform that brings their vision to life is of immeasurable value. Sallyanne genuinely believes that some of the technologies at the Innovation pavilion have a real chance of success in China.

As a panel judge for the Innovation forum, Gijsbert de Bruin, CEO of Launch Factory 88 believes that the organizers of this event, Isle Utilities, had chosen a very timely subject for evaluation and supported it with an extremely interesting group of technologies from around the world. Because the next century will confront us with an entirely new set of challenges in water and waste water treatment, advances in
technology is key to protecting our environment and these showcased technologies more than proved we are moving in the right direction.

The panel of judges from Launch Factory 88, IWA, GWP, Atkins and Sembcorp Industries were ultimately tasked with selecting the winner. The award was taken by New Sky Energy (www.newskyenergy.com) for their gas sweetening technology that will revolutionize the treatment of hydrogen sulphide. Deane Little CEO of New Sky Energy is proud to have won the Isle Innovation Award China at the IE Expo 2017 and is looking forward to identifying partners and investors that will help us bring our wastewater treatment technologies to market in China and Asia. Deane is thanking Isle Utilities & IFAT for organizing the Innovation Pavilion and also Launch Factory 88 for sponsoring this event. It creates opportunities for companies like New Sky to enter important markets like China.
