Empowering Change: Isle’s Blanca Antizar, Director of Consultancy Elected to the International Water Association Strategic Council

We are thrilled to announce a remarkable achievement within the Isle family. Dr. Blanca Antizar, Isles’ Director of Consultancy for Europe, Africa, and Latin America has been elected as a distinguished member of the International Water Association (IWA) Strategic Council.

In an official notification received last week, Dr. Antizar, alongside nine other new members, was welcomed during an onboarding meeting, where Kala, the CEO of IWA, extended her greetings to the expanded Strategic Council, now comprising a total of 41 members.

What is the IWA Strategic Council? The IWA Strategic Council holds a pivotal role, providing advice to the Governing Assembly, Board of Directors, and the Executive Director on long-range issues, plans, activities, and programs aimed at furthering the Association’s goals and objectives. This esteemed council also plays a crucial role in harmonizing the work of various Specialist Groups, task groups, forces, clusters, and other working groups within the Association.

The collaborative and knowledge-sharing spirit that flourishes within IWA’s global network of water professionals is harnessed by the Strategic Council to address current water issues. The Council, comprising individuals with diverse geographic, academic, and cultural backgrounds, works collectively to design tools and outputs that contribute to a water-wise world and a resilient environmental future for generations to come.

IWA’s Global Impact: The International Water Association stands as a beacon of global collaboration, with members situated in 140 countries worldwide. It forms the largest international network of water professionals working towards a water-wise world. Isle, through Dr. Antizars’ active participation in the IWA Strategic Council, continues to contribute to innovative, solution-oriented approaches spanning various areas that contribute to the progression of water management worldwide.

From pioneering research and projects focused on water and wastewater management to organizing world-class events that bring the latest science, technology, and best practices to the forefront, IWA remains at the forefront of water-related challenges. The Association also works diligently to place water on the global political agenda, influencing best practices in regulation and policymaking through its extensive global membership.

IWA’s Systems Approach: No single individual or technology can address the complex water problems our world faces today. This is why IWA takes a systems approach, linking research and practice, businesses and governments, hardware and humanities. For over seven decades, the IWA has set the global water agenda, catalyzing innovations and elevating best practices worldwide.

Blanca Antizar, now part of the IWA Strategic Council, will actively contribute to this legacy of progress. By demonstrating replicable research findings and sharing practical knowledge across diverse settings, Isle continues to be an international reference and a source of durable water solutions. The solutions are robust and flexible enough to be universally applicable, easily accessible, and locally adaptable.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our Dr. Antizar on this remarkable achievement, and we look forward to the positive impact their contributions will make on a global scale. Together, we continue to accelerate progress towards a sustainable water future.

Stay tuned for more updates on Isle’s journey towards water innovation and positive change.
