George Hawkins, a leading voice for utility innovation, has joined Isle Utilities as Chair of its North American operations, effective immediately. As Chair, George will support the growth of Isle’s services to help assess, identify and implement appropriate innovations to utilities and other end users, and drive new initiatives to elevate Isle’s global brand awareness.

Among George’s numerous accomplishments in public policy and utility management, his tenure as CEO and General Manager at DC Water may be the most recognizable. His leadership focused on internal and external innovation to drive customer value and operational excellence. Through the implementation of innovative technologies and best practices, George sought to achieve better outcomes that drove customer value. His passion and leadership will support Isle’s growing utility driven services related to the identification and adoption of emerging solutions.

“DC Water has been a charter member of an Isle Technical Advisory Group – TAG – for many years,” said George, “and I saw first-hand how valuable it was to have an enterprise get to know us and provide introductions to targeted companies and innovations that have been pre-screened from Isle’s pipeline of more than 4,500 companies. I am delighted to join the effort of enabling Isle to help utilities and many other water users assess and implement innovations to drive performance that can be better, faster, cheaper, and sometimes, all three!”

“We are delighted to welcome George to the Isle family. His excitement for innovative approaches and practical optimism that their application can support utilities to do more for their customers aligns strongly with the role Isle plays in the water sector. This is a moment of celebration for Isle and the customers we serve,” Cristina Ahmadpour, President, Isle Inc.
