Isle is seeking a Senior or Principal Consultant to join our team of passionate and motivated individuals working to accelerate the uptake of innovative solutions into the water sector.
We run our globally recognised Technology Approval Group (TAG) to bring new technologies in front of our water and industrial clients. We work with water companies to help them identify what solutions are available to meet their challenges including in advanced wastewater treatment, resource recovery and decarbonisation. We also help them understand how innovation can make the step change they need. We advise technology companies on how to enter markets in different countries, who their competitors are, and what it is that is setting them apart. We undertake technical due diligence for investors, using our science and engineering-based investigation skills to find out what stage in development a technology is. We also work with funding bodies to carry out research into innovation trends and activities in the water sector across the globe.
The successful candidate will be involved in delivering projects to water companies, technology providers, regulators and investors. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic, agile, fast-paced environment with the ability to handle multiple projects at once. We’re looking for an individual who is loyal, hardworking and resourceful and has exceptional communication skills. The position available is for an experienced professional looking to further their career within a global consultancy focusing on technology and innovation in the cleantech sector.
This is a permanent position and offers the successful candidate long-term and international opportunities, with the chance to move between business units and our global offices.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage projects to time and budget for our clients including water companies, regulators, technology providers and investors
- Support senior staff with business development activities
- Provide technical input to projects in your area of knowledge
- Research into topics of emerging interest, to identify upcoming technology and innovation relevant to the water sector
- Data analysis and concise report writing
- Presentation of results to clients
- Line management as required
The preferred Candidate will have:
- A Master’s degree in Environmental Science or Engineering
- Experience within a consultancy, with a good understanding of business development and project delivery
- Well-developed knowledge of municipal water, wastewater and / or sludge processes, with technical expertise in one or more specific area
- An established network of water utility contacts within the UK
- Thorough understanding of global challenges related to water/wastewater/carbon and the direct implications for water utilities and relevant industry
- Experience of managing a high performing team as a line manager and / or as a project manager
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail, along with the ability to maintain a high quality of reports and presentations
- An organised and methodological approach to planning and delivering work of a high quality
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team-oriented environment
- High self-motivation, can-do attitude, optimistic outlook
The candidate must have the right to work in the UK. The position will be based in our office in central London, although there is the opportunity for hybrid working. Many of our staff work from home and so the candidate should be prepared to operate in a remote working environment.
