Wilfried is a Utility engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the petrochemical process industry.

For LyondellBasell, he improved the performance of the utility system at the European sites, provided technical leadership and engineering support to capital projects, improved training for utility personnel, worked on the company water policy and build the European utility technological knowledge exchange team. As reliability engineer for the crackers at Wesseling, he lead the team that improved the reliability of the furnaces to better than the industry standard.

At Chemelot, Geleen, Wilfried facilitated Root Cause Analysis sessions, improving the methodology implementation. Solved problems with distillation, pumps, reactor performance, heat exchangers, wastewater plants. Engineered cooling systems, cooling towers, critical condenser heat exchangers. Used Six Sigma to select and run improvement projects. Educated engineers and operators on utility systems: air, water, steam, open and closed cooling circuits
