Magela is a Chemical Engineer with a PhD from the Delft University of Technology. She is specialised in waste and wastewater treatment and re-valorisation, with eight years of experience in research at the Universidad de la República, Uruguay, and over five years of experience as a PhD and Postdoc researcher at the Water Management department at Delft University of Technology. Outside academia, she has worked in Sachedi Ltda. and Biotrade SA, Uruguay, as the operation manager of the wastewater treatment plant, and as a junior project manager and technical consultant in several wastes re-valorisation projects.

Magela is passionate about innovative technologies that can help society and contribute to achieving a more sustainable world.
