Access proven solutions, case studies, and operational insights from global water utilities. Isle connects you to practical, real-world intelligence that supports confident, de-risked decision-making.

Our Technology Approval Group (TAG) has been running since 2005 with the mission of bringing companies together with innovators to try to progress the adoption of technologies which will change the water industry for the better. Isle has a global team of technology scouts who identify and track the latest innovations in the market and curate a list for our members to vote on and the selected innovations are subsequently offered the opportunity to present their pitches. Since TAG’s inception, it has grown to be a global offering, with municipal and industrial TAG members all over the world.
European TAG has evolved based on our deep understanding of our members needs and also as a result of the depth and breadth of our expertise, which, as a global consultancy contributes substantial value to our members. TAG 2.0 is our current offering which is outlined below and aims to bring innovative technologies and innovative thinking to solve our members’ most pressing water management challenges.
If you would like to learn more about adoptable innovation related to the water industry and how we can help you adopt innovation within your organization, please do get in touch with our Head of TAG, Beth Neucker.

These events are for members only. If you would like to be a part of TAG, please contact us.
The Midwest TAG 36 Meeting is being hosted by the City of Dayton Department of Water in Dayton, Ohio and is for TAG Members and Invited Guests only.
On Wednesday, 5 November 2025 (2 PM CST), Dr. Reshmina William, Senior Project Manager at Isle, will speak on water sector innovation and de-risking pilots and trials. This session is part of Current’s monthly seminar series with leading research partners.
TAG’s mission is to drive innovation in the water sector, bringing companies together with innovators to progress adoption of technologies to address the challenges in the water sector, but also to nurture a strong, inspiring community that you can be a part of. If you believe your company could benefit from being part of this community where you can share experiences and learnings as well as benefit from the technical expertise and connections Isle brings then please do get in touch.
There are a mix of virtual and in person events as well as resulting reports available to TAG members with a focus on technology and innovation. TAG members can influence the technologies shared at TAG through communicating their key challenges to us as well as voting for technologies. Please see the relevant area/region for what is available to you.
The solutions presented are those that are at TRL 7-9 with an application within the Municipal or Industrial water sector (depending which group you join), presenting pioneering solutions to be discussed as a group alongside Isle experts. Isle also offers other schemes which support technologies at other TRL levels and those seeking real world trials so do get in touch if this also interests you.
To sign up, please explore your TAG region page to see what is on offer and get in touch with your local TAG team to discuss your membership options.
Let us know, if you need some help and didn’t find an answer to your question.
TAG connects innovators with end users and industry experts, providing feedback, networking opportunities, and exposure to potential collaborators, which can help your technology gain market traction.
TAG typically focuses on solutions that are at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7 or higher, and that are innovative and relevant to the municipal and industrial end-users in the water sector. If you have a technology which is nearing commercialisation, is ready for trial or has been piloted please do get in touch.
If you have a solution that meets our criteria, please contact us. A member of the technology scouting team will review your technology, and if it interests our target audience, they will invite you for an exploratory call to find out more. Following this, you may be asked to submit your technology for member voting. If selected, you will be invited to present to interested end users at a regional TAG event.
If you are interested in presenting in a particular region, please let us know, and we can connect you with the relevant teams to gauge member interest. Once you have participated in a TAG event, you may be invited to present in other regions.
There is no cost for technology innovators to participate in TAG events. However, we do not cover travel or accommodation expenses if you are presenting at an event in person. Many of our events have the option to participate online.
After TAG, you will have the opportunity to engage independently with interested members. If progress is made following TAG you may be invited back to give an update to the TAG members which is a chance to re-engage the audience. As part of the TAG alumni, we will keep you informed about future events and opportunities which may benefit you. We also offer other support services if you wish to understand more about market entry and understanding the needs in a particular region.
