Innovation and Startups Arena promotes sustainable solutions for water at IFAT Brasil 2025

The IFAT Brasil 2025 Innovation Arena, led by Isle Utilities, showcased sustainable water solutions and connected the sector’s key innovators.

The Innovation and Startups Arena, organized by Isle Utilities in partnership with IFAT Brasil and sponsored by Companhia de Saneamento do Paraná – Sanepar, was one of the great highlights of IFAT Brasil 2025, reinforcing its role as an essential platform to promote sustainable solutions for water in Latin America.

Sustainable solutions for water at IFAT Brasil 2025

During the three days of the event, the Arena had almost 12 hours of programming, distributed in panels and high-impact presentations. In all, 27 experts shared their knowledge, including representatives of seven innovation programs, such as Sanepar, Aegea Saneamento, CAESB, CASAN, Copasa, Grupo Águas do Brasil, and AESabesp.

The program attracted a highly qualified audience. IFAT Brasil 2025 received 20 thousand participants from the 26 states of Brazil and 34 countries. The space was designed to bring the market closer  to emerging and impactful technologies that are redesigning the future of the sector.

Highlight for disruptive technologies in sanitation

18 technological solutions were presented, including the 10 startups of the Sanepar Startups program (Stattus4, Radioforce, Galax.IA, Pullup, Etsys, Sanapp, O2eco Tecnologia Ambiental, Eisenia, People Experience, and Maxbot) and 8 exhibiting companies of the Arena:

  • AquiSense Inc. – Water disinfection by UV-C LED, safe and chemical-free.
  • ATME | Eco-Solutions –Technology for more economical and sustainable businesses, working in automation and energy efficiency, sanitation and water efficiency, and energy recovery from waste.
  • Cimico – Innovative biological and digital treatment solutions for wastewater treatment in industrial and municipal environments.
  • DMI65 – High-performance catalytic filter media for the removal of iron, manganese, and arsenic. Used for public sewage, industrial wastewater, power generation, and aquaculture.
  • Gutermann – Advanced acoustic and IoT-enabled leak detection solutions that integrate real-time pressure, flow, and leak noise data through NB-IoT connectivity and cloud-based analytics, enabling utilities to swiftly identify and localize leaks with meter-level precision.
  • Hydrodigital – Digital systems for water monitoring and management, powered by Machine Learning, which addresses the critical performance issues of the urban hydrological cycle operation.
  • Radioforce – Innovative acoustic correlation technology in IoT identifies leaks in water networks with an accuracy of up to 5 meters, and 24/7 monitoring ensures a reduction in losses and operating costs.
  • Scotmas Group – Chlorine Dioxide technology delivers safe, sustainable, and highly effective water disinfection solutions trusted by industries and municipalities worldwide.

IFAT Brazil Award for Innovative Technology

One of the most awaited moments of the Arena was the second edition of the IFAT Brasil Award for Innovative Technology, organized by Isle Utilities. Exhibiting technologies presented their solutions to a technical jury, composed of André Nascimento (Isle Utilities), Juliana Correa (Sabesp), and Marina Roque Oliveira (IFAT Brasil), who evaluated criteria such as uniqueness, market potential, and strategic vision. The winners were:

  • ATME Eco Solutions
  • Aquisense Technologies

The award reinforces Arena’s ongoing commitment to technologies that can transform the way we deal with water, wastewater, and natural resources.

A platform for transformation and impact

For the CEO of Messe Muenchen do Brasil, Rolf Pickert, “IFAT Brasil was born to drive this transformation, connecting technology, knowledge and people around a common purpose. Seeing this ecosystem gathered, engaged and committed in these three days is proof that we are on the right path to make a difference, not only in the sector, but in society, in Brazil, and in Latin America.”

Victor Arroyo, director of Isle Utilities for Spain, Portugal, and Latin America, highlighted: “The Innovation and Startups Arena reflects our commitment to driving innovation and fostering sustainable solutions to sanitation challenges in Latin America. It is the ideal space to connect transformative ideas to the market.”
