Ofwat’s Water Efficiency Lab 1 is now open, offering up to £5 million to support innovations that help people and businesses reduce water use sustainably.
Isle is excited to join Ofwat in announcing that the first Water Efficiency Lab competition (‘WEL 1′) is now open for entries! We’re proud to be working alongside Challenge Works and Arup to deliver this programme as part of the Ofwat Innovation Fund.
Do you have a water innovation that could help curb water use and improve sustainability? WEL 1 is making up to £5 million available for innovators to develop tools that can help people and businesses reduce their water usage.
This first competition focuses on innovations that give people and businesses the insights they need to better understand and reduce their water use, helping cut bills, preserve water resources and protect the environment.
The Water Efficiency Lab is part of Ofwat’s wider £100 million Water Efficiency Fund and is an important part of reducing water demand across England and Wales – which will help meet long-term goals for a more resilient and sustainable water system. WEL 1 is the first round of the fund and individual entries are able to request between £150,000 and £1.5 million.
